Pastor Ethan KimChildren's Pastor
I am a child at heart. I have a very outgoing personality, whether it be cracking jokes or having fun with others, my childlike character shows. By nature, I love being around kids and ministering to them. I believe that children must not only feel the love of Jesus through the Children’s Ministry but be disciplined to learn to serve and respect God.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 represents the importance of teaching our children about the word of God, it states, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” As the Bible states, we must teach our children about Jesus.
I have been serving as a Children’s Pastor in Evangel Chapel since 2014. Since then, God has truly blessed me with great people and a great church. Before that, I was a director of the Children/Youth Ministry in Korean Presbyterian Church in Little Ferry for 10 years. It seems that as time goes, God always finds more children for me.
I was born in Seoul, Korea (it is not NORTH, but South Korea) and moved to the United States when I was 16 years old. I am married to Eunice Oh, who actively serves in a mission group called InterCp. Her great heart for missions comes from her being a pastor’s daughter AND a pastor’s wife. We have three boys, Justin, Caleb, and Brandon. We love playing baseball together and eating great food. Cook anything on a grill and add some barbecue sauce, us four boys will eat it.
